Chapter 1: KEYCARD ACCESS

In Brief: Your characters are tasked by Brok with stealing an access card for the Resistance. Sneak into the Barracks and make off with it before Kano notices you.

Minigames

Sneaking into the Barracks: Sneak
The MCs attempt to slip their way into the Barracks without being seen. It's doomed to failure, but careful work will mean they get farther (and get more benefit) before they're detected.

Better success: All MCs stash one card.
Success: No extra effect.
Three of a kind: All MCs discard one card after their next reload.
Two pair: All MCs discard their best card after their next reload.
One pair: All MCs discard two cards after their next reload.
Nothing: Lose 1 Patience.

Mobs

Arba Enforcers: 50 HP, Dmg 15, Range 0, Acc 5+, Move Auto/1, Evade Q+, Resist Q+
AI: Move toward the largest group. Stop when you get in range with the MCs and attack them at random.

Arba Marksmen: 30 HP, Dmg 10, Range 2, Acc 4+, Move Auto/1, Evade 10+, Resist J+
AI: Stay in place and attack MCs randomly. Move toward enemies if you are out of range.

Arba Security Drones Mk. 1: 50 HP, Dmg 10, Range 1, Acc 4+, Move 0, Evade K+, Resist J+
Special ability: Hidden. The Mk. 1 drone is built into the floor and has Bit:Invisible=1 at the beginning of a fight.
AI: Attack the MC with the lowest HP for as long as they are in range.

Barracks Jailer 200 HP, Dmg 10, Range 1, Acc 5+, Move Auto/2, Evade Q+, Resist 10+
Special attack: Forced Incarceration. Instead of attacking the Jailor can move processes from his area into an adjacent one, even if that area is locked.
Status byte locked
AI: Push MCs into the jail cells.

Boss: Kano

2000 HP
Move 5 / 10, Evade K+, Resist J+
Attack: Baton. Dmg 20, Range 0, Acc 4+
Alternate attack: Thrown Baton. Dmg 10, Range 1, Acc 5+

No special statuses. Kano's status byte is unlocked.
No special hackable values.

Special Ability: Command. Other mobs target the MC that Kano indicates until the fight is over.
Special Ability: Status Reset Subroutine. At the beginning of each round, Kano's Status byte is reset to the default settings.

Reward

After defeating Kano, all characters receive the next Exploit on their class list. This should be:

  • Ronin - Cover
  • Gunslinger - Speedloader
  • Gambler - Stack the Deck
  • Sorcerer - Exclude Allies
  • Hacker - Scan

Quest item: Kano's Access Card, received after sneaking into the Barracks. This item allows access to any restricted area in the City. The MC carrying it can use it in combat (as their whole action this round, no card play needed) to unlock a locked battlefield area.

Miniature: If the players have 1 Patience left at the Barracks, they can spend it to find the item "1/30 Scale Lilith"
